Flowerbrand Purut leaves are shiny leaves of the citrus fruit. They shine and give an aromatic citrus scent and taste to sauces, soups, curries and all kinds of (stew) dishes and soup with meat, chicken or vegetables. But the taste of citrus should also not be missing in rice dishes, especially in nasi kuning (yellow rice). You can use the djeroek purut leaves for a cold soy sauce and sambal sauce. Crush the leaves and stir them into the sauce for a fresh lime flavor.
Compared to pandan leaves, for example, these leaves are edible. Usually the leaves are removed from the dishes as soon as the taste and smell have been released, but if you cut them very finely you can eat them.
Can also be used in coconut djeroek cookies.
The aroma of the leaves can also be used very well in cocktails and desserts.
